You may have noticed the “Take Justice Back” badge that we recently added to our website. The Take Justice Back movement was started in response to the now decades long fight against plaintiffs’ rights in the civil justice system, including Draconian tort reform measures, advertising and marketing campaigns that vilify tort cases and contracts and terms of use that require consumers to forego their constitutional right to a trial by a jury of their peers. Take Justice Back has created a website that allows people to learn more about the movement and about the actions of corporations, insurance companies and others that continue to negatively impact the rights of citizens throughout the country. When a reader picks up last month’s issue of Boston Magazine at home or in a doctor’s office, they will find a list of “Super Lawyers” in Massachusetts or New England in various areas of law, including in the field of personal injury. The list of “Super Lawyers” is compiled by a system that includes nomination by other attorneys. It is, of course, an honor to be recognized by other lawyers as practicing at a high level, and our firm was pleased to have all of our partners named among the best lawyers in the region.

Super Lawyers is the newest of several lawyer peer recognition surveys that include Best Lawyers in America and Martindale-Hubbell. Martindale-Hubbell, the oldest of the three, began its lawyer rankings in 1896. Martindale-Hubbell ranks lawyers according to peer rating of adherence to ethical standards and legal ability. The rating system is explained here.
